Rush

You're invited to join the most exciting house on campus, the Deke house! Feel free to come by anytime, and we especially encourage you to visit during our Rush events.

September is RUSH month, a month most fraternity men remember as one of the best of their lives. Rush is a series of events including parties, sporting events, and games that allow male students to have an awesome time while getting to know the fraternities on campus.

Meeting fraternity members, other rushees, and beautiful women is often part of the Rush experience at UBC.

The goal of Rush is for rushees to get to know the the system, the perks, and achieve a better understanding of what were all about. The best way to get to know Delta Kappa Epsilon is by coming out to the Rush events and meeting its members and alumni. In the meantime we can give you a bit of a background info about our fraternity.

ΔΚΕ is founded on the core qualities that maintain our brotherhood: “gentleman, scholar, and jolly good fellow.”  Each year during Rush, Delta Kappa Epsilon strives to continue maintaining these qualities by searching for unique members that will add energy and enthusiasm to our traditions.  Since 1844, the Brothers of Delta Kappa Epsilon – also called Dekes – numbering over one hundred thousand have bonded at over seventy chapters on campuses across North America such as Phi at Yale, Delta Phi at Edmonton, and  (links to their websites are available on the ΔΚΕ webpage). 

If you are worried about grades when rushing ΔΚΕ; we can lend a helping hand. Older fraternity brothers who have already taken the same courses you are taking, in such faculties as Commerce, Science, Arts and Engineering have been through the process and understand how hard 1st year can be. Let us help you become better academically while having fun, meeting women, and achieving your goals through the brootherhood that is DKE.

Our chapter, Phi Alpha, founded on February 26th, 1949, currently consists of forty-eight active Dekes and around one thousand alumni.  Our chapter is a mosaic of members from different walks of life and places including active members from Costa Rica, Cyprus, and Gambier Island.   In February 2004 Wstbrook mall became home to twenty-eight Dekes allowing them to live in a luxury quad-style apartment setting .  Although we know how to party and have lots of fun, we also pride ourselves on our academic and athletic performance.
